firstly guess how many direct ancestors u would have had 500 years ago, meaning only great great great etc granparents.

now assume each generation is 25 years (quite conservative)
remember each generation u go back doubles the answer eg 2 parents, 4 grandparents 8 great grandparnts. what is the answer? when uve absorbed this amazing answer take it back another 500, u will get an impossible answer.

500 years ago or 20 generations, u would have had 1'000'000
direct ancestors, obvoisly this means that many times along the way relatives unknown to eachother would have "hooked up' so the figure wouldnt really be that big as one man may be your great great great etc etc grandfather in 3 0r 4 different ways,.

the catch is when you go back another 500 years u get a figure of 1 million million, impossible in that its many times graeter tahn todays population let lanone 1000 years ago.

whats my point, think about it, virtualy everone u meet, would have a common ancestor with u within the last few hundred years.

maybe we should all be nicer to everyone.
