I'm Not Dying! I'm Not Dying! It's Asthma!
Update to my recent health nightmare: I went to see the lung specialist today. I finally had pulmonary function testing done, first while I was symptomatic and then after treatment with an inhaled asthma medicine. The test showed my lung capacity was 75% before treatment. After treatment it was 114%! So I've been diagnosed with adult onset asthma and severe allergies. I can't tell you how relieved I am to have an answer and a treatment plan. My interweb friends have been a tremendous and cherished source of support, comfort, distraction and upliftment during all of this. Shout out to JerseyKRS who has not only been dealing with the stress of not knowing what's wrong with his sick wife, but also taking on all the duties of home, bills and four crazy children. He is the most best thing of anything that ever was.

I'm just happy I'll be able to get back to my life as usual once the controller meds start to do their job. Doc said give it 1-2 weeks.

you must be so relieved to know what it was, and what you'll be doing to keep the asthma attacks at a minimum

Right now I'm still frustratingly limited as far as exerting myself if I don't want to bring on an attack. But the pulmonologist said that if I take the meds as prescribed, within 2 weeks I should be able to spaz around like my normal abnormal self.

Did they say if part of the problems were from the environment you`re working in sometimes.

I've given small amounts of black coffee to my daughter during her asthma attacks when nothing else worked. It helps.
