Books by French Philosophers

i have to admit i did have a good stab at Foucault's Madness and Civilisation, but was put off by at least five chapters of the history of treatment of the, shall we say, 'mentally infirm'. I promise myself to finish reading said book tonight.

Then I can get on to Jean Baudrillard's Simulacra et Simulation, which i'm sure will be rivetting, and at least mildly current.

Any other French afficionados in the room?

read Camus years back and some of the Surrealists'. Breton's Nadja was great.

Foucalt'd be the deep end for me, not an afficionado.
