Question: Do you only date people who excite you or do you date any old schmoe who asks?

In other words, how high do you hold the bar? Discuss.

It would be a waste of time to date someone I have nothing in common with.

When it comes to dating, you have to:

- Make me laugh.
- Dress nice.
- Be GORGEOUS. (I'm shallow.)
- Nice personality.
- Sweet.
- Have a job.
- Have your shit together.
- Share some of my interests.
- Intelligent.
- Smell good at all times.
- Gotta be packin' heat -- big dick & sex game right.
- Talented. (In one way or another.)
- Can't be no bitch ass dude -- don't be all emotional and shit.

... and I don't settle for less. If you don't meet the criteria, KICK ROCKS. batting eyes

nobody really asked me so I would have been only to grateful to date anyone that asked, except for this one guy that looked like a skull with blonde hair

The 3 questions I ask when I'm thinking of letting someone I've recently met to the next level are:

Whats the last music you downloaded?

What's the last book you read?

How does taking 9 inches up your ass sound?

I guess for me it would be someone I find appealing. But truth be told, all of the people I know I find them appealing in one way or other, so if I was single if any of them asked me out I would have no problem readily accepting. I have been asked out by total strangers before, men from trains, museum exhibits, etc. But it starts with a telephone call first. If the phone proves satisfactory, then a coffee meeting is arranged. There's no harm in meeting for a coffee, and that's usually the clincher for me to pick someone's brain and see if I could at least like them as a friend first. If I can't find a person appealing in mind, character, and aesthetics as a friend, then I would be around them to begin with, let alone consider them dating material. coffee

I don't date people, period. lol

But in general, no, I don't date any old schmoe who asks. In fact, my default state is generally to be annoyed by men who approach me in public.

I hate dating so much I really have to be attracted to the guy in order to get so far as to agree to go out. I'd have to prefer the date to, say, going to the dentist. Most often, I'm gonna pick the dentist first.

if someone asks and seems like a nice and genuine person, i give them the benefit of the doubt and will go out on a few dates.

if they still seem nice and genuine, i continue.

Girl, if I was you I'd be picky as hell. Cause your fine ass can afford to be.

But then again, if I was that fine, I'd probably be a ho.

i have to like the dude

i hate them dudes:

- ya dudes that don't have it together (major turn off)
-dudes that don't flip out all the time
-ugly
-insecure dudes
-dudes that control everything you do (what you say and how to act)
-dudes that talk about themselves and only themselves talking about they are the biggest player in town
-i don't like the guy their hanging wit

i met dudes that didn't have it together and be falling on the floor and don't have places to stay, they can't even get they act together. they can't get their pick up lines together , they be mumbaling when they talk.

i think it all begins with conversation first don't you think?

if yall have things in common....i think this is where most my r.ships go sour.

sounds like a Jazmine Sullivan song! razz The follow-up to Cher's Gypsies, Tramps, and Thieves.

As I reflect back on my "dating" moments, which are actually very few, I guess I was dating mostly schmoes, but then somehow schmoes that peaked my interest. LOL. I'm realizing now that I am sooooo off the dating game, it's a shame!

PS my crush has me sprung and doesn't even know it....if he would ask for a date, he would probably get hurt. LOL. But I'm too shy/anxious/stupid/scared of rejection to ask him out. And for some reason, I think he is trying to throw hints, and I'm sending some serious weird mixed signals back. He probably thinks I'm the biggest flake.

I only date chicks that excite me I guess and there are very few of those. I can count on one hand the number of women I have been interested in like that, which I guess means you can assume I have dated less than 5 people. Simply being good looking is not enough. Friends constantly try to get me to go for this chick or that one because "Oh she's cute!"...great...she's got a pretty face. Now why do I wanna be bothered with her?

OKAY. To clarify my own personal situation...lol because I know everything is about ME lol

...

anyhoo...so lately, yeah, I'm REALLY single right now. Yet, I'm friendly and fun. batting eyes At least TWO mature men have indicated they want to be better friends. These are friendships -- not just cold callers I meet on the street -- shake

We have a lot in common -- one plays music in a group I play with, the other I work with... confuse trying to remember if there are others asking me out?...

Older single men. Really nice people and not unattractive. I'd probably get along with them just fine. Both are older. I've done older, not really into it anymore.

ALL my past relationships formulated by someone pursuing me, going along with it, getting hooked for a while, until I woke up one day and was like eek . So I'm on the lookout. Trying to be a bit more proactive with my choosing...
