Now with over 700 dead the totals could go over a thousand by morning, and this was not hitting a populated area is what people forget this was off shore, as some experts said had this hit a populated area it would have easily killed 10times more than Haiti's quake, though this is a major tragedy, it must be noted that for now, a major bullet was dodged.

Some forget that NYC is on a Faultline, we always talk LA which is in major danger of quakes all the time, NYC is near a faultline that runs under the Hudson River and if that ever shook half the size of the Chile Quake, millions would be killed just from the water going into downtown manhattan and into the subway lines. Quakes to me are the scariest thing, i have never been in one, but the fact that there is no way to read them is the scariest, a Hurricane You can see, A tornado you pretty much can get a warning, a snowstorm is like a hurricane it moves so slow, but an earthquake can strike anytime, and honestly anywhere.

LA n NYC has nothing on the New Madrid fault line. That's the one Im waiting for.

Yeah i recall reading of it and i believe New Jersey had something more recent but less felt than that, both under the radar, i just think its interesting that not many know there is a huge faultline under the Hudson

Yeah i mean you really just never know, other places are more at risk to have one than others, but the same is said about Tornadoes never hitting nyc and yet two summers ago one went through Brooklyn right through flatbush avenue at 6in the morning, people were clueless at what the hell it even was.
