I got a letter from the bank that funded my car note that I paid off a few years ago. The letter said that my loan is still outstanding and that they are in the process of taking me to court if I don't arrange an agreement with them.

I had something similar to this happen to me with my last vehicle. Long story short they "found" there mistake.

Oh, yeah. That's probably a scam. I've received letters from collection agencies claiming they are collecting for outstanding debts from places I've never heard of. I simply write back, "FUCK YOU AND YOUR SCAM! MESS WITH ME AGAIN AND I'LL HAVE YOUR ASS IN A SLING!"
