there are actually tournaments in the 20/20 format there, but
sometimes i think americans are hesitant to get into international
competitions like cricket and rugby. i always wondered why the
world series is call that, when only us teams play
biggrin

Now, don't you be going anywhere. You don't have to cross any pond to find an orger who wants to take a dip in your pool. (By the way - I was named after a cricketer).

I bet, you can see how we have struggled with soccer (football) I imagine we really suck at crickit & rugby.

Major League Baseball is more & more becoming an international sport, it really almost is the World Series, even though only US teams play in it. hmmm

Cricket and Rugby are not that popular here in the US. The three most popular sports in the US are Baseball, Basketball and Football.

However, in baseball on opening day 2009, there were 229 players from 19 different countries at the Major league level and at the minor league level 3,335 of the 6,973 (47.8 %) were from outside the USA.

I am sure the numbers have gone up this year.

WOW, how did I miss this!!

Just when I think he is past his best, he pulls this out.

What a amazing career. Seems like only yesterday he was a young boy strolling to the crease. Seeing him now makes me feel old, and like Ive wasted my years

well, the US soccer team is really not that bad...and I expect some surprises from them in the upcoming World Cup in South Africa.

i think that if the US put their mind to it, they can excel in any sport...though cricket is a "funny game" and is different from baseball in many ways (more complex i would say)
