Will these unnecessary remakes never end?

As much as I love Jackie Earle, I will not be seeing this mess.

Texas Chainsaw and the first Hills Have Eyes were the only decent remake in this trend of remaking 70s/80s horror flicks.

Gonna watch The Stepfather today.

hmmm Are they gonna make Krueger innocent of the child murders this time? Or am I reading too much into his "I didn't do anything" in the trailer?

80s ideas coupled with contemporary visual bling hasn't proven out to be a good recipe on the overall.

I'd probably go see a Hellraiser remake though. shrug

razz I dunno. Seems like lately, these modern scary films aren't as scary. Like they're watered down or something. There was a time when I'd be afraid to go to sleep after seeing one. lol I'll give it a shot. Freddy scared the crap outta me as a kiddo. Back when he had a hotline, the teachers at my daycare would threaten to call it (we thought it was really him...) if we didn't go to sleep.

Ahhh memories. eek

This is the new Pinhead:

The original Pinhead had a creepier image with the pure white face and black eyes. This new one looks like a monster from Thirteen Ghosts. ugh. I remember being around 6, seeing a movie poster for Hellraiser, and thinking Pinhead was the coolest and scariest looking thing ever.

I saw it when I was 14 at a sleepover. We weren't in the main house when we went to bed, but in kind of stables converted to an office and needless to say I didn't sleep a wink ugh!!!

^^^I guess they wanted him to look tortured, so they added a bunch of blood.

I still prefer the old one....still intriguing without the blood.

I would get that, but they're custom made and over $100. lol

I know he's 60 odd but it's not gonna be the same without Robert Englund..... same as the new Indiana Jones wouldn't have been the same without Harrison Ford.

lol Yes he is but he doesn't look his age and because that's who I'm used to seeing and no one else can play Freddy Kreuger like him. That part is his and he should play it' plus he might as well since he played on Freddy vs. Jason. shrug

my freddy vs jason dvd says 2003,so that would 7 years. robert englund cant play freddy forever. I do agree that that part is his and how old is he again? that said, its gonna be interesting. R u also one of the people that were mad when Heath Ledger played the joker instead of Jack Nicholson?

First you can save the lame sarcasm because it's not needed and this is a movie discussion topic and I'm just stating my opinion. Second I actually enjoyed both the new version of Batman with Heath and the old with Jack and no I didn't trip when Heath played as Joker and 3rd Batman is different because it's not like Jack Nicholson played in everyone of the Batman movies for anyone to really be attached like that. It's cool if you disagree with me but let's keep this as adult as possible .
