Forget about the religious side of it. The political AND social side of it is what made me sad AND angry after watching the film. An innocent man was beaten AND killed for a crime he didn't commit. When I told a Christian friend of mine about the Qur'an version of Jesus crucifiction, he flipped We believe in Islam, that God cursed Judas by transforming him into the image of Jesus for his betrayal, and the rest was history. But the REAL gotcha was, Jesus IS not dead, god protected his body & spirit alive for the judgement day where he'll come down, break the cross and kill the anti-christ(In Islam, we call him 'Al-Massich Al-Dajjal'). PricelessHo can correct me if I missed a beat I guess what I'm trying to say is, we believe in different details but agree on the same philosophy. And I def agree with you Tony, the WHOLE story is totally political and social as it is religious.

Ooops, I forgot that one! Yeah, pretty disturbing, but al least it shows a 18th Century war in all its gory glory... and I forgot about We were soldiers as well. That film is not only both the best and the worst Vietnam movie ever made, it's also the bloodiest, and then again, that's sayin' something... [Edited 2/21/10 16:53pm]

All he was trying to do was make a movie concept of this old tradition: Passion Play - A Passion play is a dramatic presentation depicting the Passion of Christ: the trial, suffering and death of Jesus Christ. It is a traditional part of Lent in several Christian denominations, particularly in Catholic tradition. Oh, no doubt. I acknowledge the precedent. But, then, I have theological differences with that precedent as well, so... Ὅσον ζῇς φαίνου
