So, how cold is it there? My mom is in St Pete visiting her sis but I have not chatted with her online for a few days. She was complaining about how cold it has been.

I ate a sausage sub w/o the sausage (just onions and peppers), funnel cake, deep fried snickers, deep fried pickles and deep fried butter.

And I didn't even get a stomach ache!

I IM'ed with my mom earlier, her fingers are not froze.

And the battered deep fried Snickers bar was just fabulous.

The chocolate and caramel got all melty, the fried coating was crisp on the outside and soft on the inside, and the peanuts were a perfect counterpoint to all the sweet, soft, melty goodness.

Oh and I may have eaten some steak too.

We tried it at home a couple of years ago, and our downfall was using a recipe with a cornmeal batter. Not good. Next time we'll do a more delicate flour-based batter.
