Just found out my gran had another accident...on sunday!!!! somehow she managed to pull a tv on her foot and break it in 3 places.... 
bed rest 4-6 weeks... try keeping an nearly 80 yo with dementia in bed 
she is on 15 min obs, but a lot can happen in 15 minutes 
please pray for her  
My Granny (also with dementia) used to do all kinds of things like that! One time she decided she couldn't wait for me to mop the floor and tried to do it herself. She slipped in the suds, hit her head on the stove, and my sister found her barely conscious in a pool of blood. THEN she gave the paramedics a FIT!  The good thing is that she can't get around without assistance these days... so we don't worry about the wandering anymore.
She's 93 now, and healthier than we are, except for the dementia. 
We joke that she's going to outlive all of us. I will definitely keep you in my thoughts and prayers. Caring for the elderly can be rough sometimes.   My ex-bf's granny is like that too. When nobody was around her for some minutes she decided to clean the window sills even though she could hardly walk anymore and felt dizzy all the time and of course she fell and couldn't get up on her own . There were more situations like that and I was relieved when she could not get around without assistance anymore even though she wished so much she could. I think whats the worst for you at this moment is the unknowing... If she were to call you up right now and say were done, I think you would handle that ok.. It would hurt, but at least you would know where everything stood... It does sound silly but you do need to move into the anger phase as someone earlier said, it makes it so much easier to get over someone... Try to accept your emotions and not fight them. If you fight them, you give them more power, especially if they're destructive. Breathe deeply and accept. It's one of the best advices I ever got.
