I was really fortunate to have my Dad, uncles, brother-in-law, and Dad's friends load up their trucks and vans and move it all for me. I paid them $50. a piece! I had more set aside, but no one wanted to take it.

I packed it all myself, but I was really excited.

Just found out my gran had another accident...on sunday!!!!
somehow she managed to pull a tv on her foot and break it in 3 places....

bed rest 4-6 weeks...
try keeping an nearly 80 yo with dementia in bed

she is on 15 min obs, but a lot can happen in 15 minutes

please pray for her

My Granny (also with dementia) used to do all kinds of things like that! One time she decided she couldn't wait for me to mop the floor and tried to do it herself. She slipped in the suds, hit her head on the stove, and my sister found her barely conscious in a pool of blood. THEN she gave the paramedics a FIT! The good thing is that she can't get around without assistance these days... so we don't worry about the wandering anymore.
She's 93 now, and healthier than we are, except for the dementia.
We joke that she's going to outlive all of us.

I will definitely keep you in my thoughts and prayers. Caring for the elderly can be rough sometimes.

My uncle was her carer, but had to work...it became to unsafe for her at home alone, hence the nursing home

Since last august she has has pneumonia, a broken hip and numerous falls...

but like your gran, has a very strong heart...surgery yrs ago helped make it this way, but unfortunately, a side effect of being on the table for long surgeries (heart surgery in her case) can cause dementia
