I just think you have to be confident it's their problem not yours. shrug

So what you made a mistake? Shit happens.

I was out to lunch the other day with some friends. Anyway, this waitress dropped on of our credit cards. And we were so busy talking we didn't realize that she hadn't charged one of us. In other words, my friend thought she had dropped it after she charged us. I think she got distracted, looking for the card, not realizing she didn't get a receipt. None of us realize it.

Anyway, we went to our cars... just taking our sweet time leaving... the waitress comes-out all pissy because one of us hadn't paid. Then we realize what happened, and I went back in with my friend so she could pay. That waitress continued to be all pissy.. (funny she was really nice when she sold us that dessert we didn't need AND we left her a nice cash tip, to boot!)

My friend left, but I stayed there to talk to the manager because I thought the waitress was downright rude. She messed us just as much as we did--for dropping the credit card! But she wanted to put the blame all on us. Nevermind we were very nice about paying the bill. Nobody fought with her.

Anyway, the manager gave us his card and told us the next one was on him! lol I was nice about it, but my goodness we made a mistake. And in all the confusion and hurry we didn't catch it.. but neither did she..

So... the moral of this story is... don't worry about it. lol Shit happens. Mistakes happen. You didn't deserve to be told-off. It's their problem, not yours. cool

lol I mean, I understand about the waitress being upset. I know the waitress would have had to pay for that portion of the bill if she hadn't caught us before we left. But nobody in our party was giving her a hard time. In fact, we were embarrassed about it--particular the woman who hadn't paid.

But the thing is... she did "catch" us--easily ! It's not like we were trying to make this fast getaway after walking a check! lol We were professional women at lunch.

And then I walked in with my friend just to make sure everything was ok, but the waitress wouldn't let it drop. She wanted to make sure we knew she was pissed! We ate a lot. Left her a good tip. We just got in a hurry and didn't realize part of the bill hadn't been paid. It was a friggin mistake which we were there correcting, but that wasn't enough?

So at one point, it's on her for acting like an ass. We weren't the ones making an issue of it. And I didn't appreciate it since my friend was already embarrassed by it. So I talked to the manager--in a nice way. I wasn't ranting or raving--nothing like that. He was very nice... so.

I'm just saying, a person can only do so much to rectify a situation. shrug
