hdmi cable I connected it to my laptop and tv. I have picture on my tv (what's on my laptop), but I have no sound. Can someone help me fix this? unlucky7 reincarnated | |

I'm not totally sure an HDMI on a computer is made to carry sound like it would from a DVD player or DVR to the your HDTV. It might be only video. It might there strictly as a monitor cable. My friend had this setup in his house. His office computer is fed to the HDTV in his bedroom. He was surprised that it DID carry audio as well. However, he suggests that it could be either 1) a driver issue, or 2) your laptop just isn't configured to send out the audio via HDMI. I'd read up on the specs on your PC just to be sure. | |

We get this now and again as well... if you're streaming movies or playing dvds you should start the connection over again... it usually works for us (your results may vary ) 1) start with the the cable unplugged and all software closed. 2) connect laptop to TV (be sure to unmute your laptop) 3) now open browser or media program and start your movie... this is the series of steps we use regularly, I hope it works for you...
