He was almost as big a Prince fan as I was! He was very athletic, even into his later years. He loved to roller skate, and when "Soft and Wet" came out, he was hooked as a Prince fan, because it was his favorite song to rollerskate on at the rink. I don't know if any of you will remember, but my dad was called onstage by Prince for a "solo spotlight" dance at the 2004 Musicology show (ironically on Father's Day) at the Palace of Auburn Hills, near Detroit, MI. We also had front row seats, thanks to the old fan club (which I miss). He was on cloud nine for a LOOONG time after that! Love you, dad, and will miss you much. I got a chance to sing and dance with Prince during the Musicology Tour, so i know how much that meant to your dad, because it meant so much to me.. My condolences to you and your family, May he rest in peace...

You guys are the best. Thank you so much for your kind words--I'm going to be sure to show my family. It was hard at first, but I'm much better knowing my dad is no longer in pain.

Thank you for sharing your stories of your super cool, roller skating Pop.
He sounds like he was the COOLEST dad on the block. I am sure that you are missing him big time. Someday you need to write down some of your memories of him because he sounds like the kind of guy that other people wished that they had met.
