My father, a huge Prince fan, died this evening.

R.I.P. to my dad, who survived for 18 years with prostate cancer. He passed away this evening at the age of 84.

He was almost as big a Prince fan as I was! He was very athletic, even into his later years. He loved to roller skate, and when "Soft and Wet" came out, he was hooked as a Prince fan, because it was his favorite song to rollerskate on at the rink.

I don't know if any of you will remember, but my dad was called onstage by Prince for a "solo spotlight" dance at the 2004 Musicology show (ironically on Father's Day) at the Palace of Auburn Hills, near Detroit, MI. We also had front row seats, thanks to the old fan club (which I miss). He was on cloud nine for a LOOONG time after that!

Love you, dad, and will miss you much. sad

Stay as strong as U can.

I lost my father at 16, and it was very sudden.

Losing a parent is similar 2 having a kid, where only others who have had kids or have lost a parent can relate.

I wish U Peace, and your father eternal Peace.

What a great memory! It's so nice that you were able to share that, and a love of music, with him.
