How often does your sleep schedule go out of wack? I need to get my sleep schedule back on track.
I'm early night sleeper. But my first few weeks here, I had late nights with a few friends. And it seemed to completely derail my sleep schedule. But now I don't spend any unnecessary money and try to save up a bit as a routine, but I still have a wacky sleep schedule. I know what will fix it---if I take up jogging long distances (I always rebalance my sleep schedule), so I guess I will do that. But do you guys have strange sleep schedules?

I tend to do my best when I go to sleep at 12 and wake up at 12. Unfortunately public school is not built around that

Ex-Moderator | I’m pretty much like clockwork no matter what schedule I’m on. These days on weeknights I like to head to the bedroom between 9 and 9:30 pm and I’m generally asleep by 10:30 at the latest. I read each night before falling asleep, sometimes 5 minutes, sometimes 90, but I have a hard time getting to sleep without a book. On weekends that shifts about an hour later. I have a really hard time being out and about past 9 even these days. And getting up at 8 am on a Saturday is majorly sleeping in. And I need at least 7.5-8 hours of sleep a night or I’m all off.
In my late teens and early 20’s I was a major night owl. I would be up till 4-5am regularly. But I slept just as late. |

With the odd exception, this last couple of years I've usually been asleep before 11pm and awake by 6am, but just lately I'm a bit up and down. Now it's coming up to 2am and I'm not feeling all that tired. A few nights this week I've been to bed at midnight or later. I'll get back on track with strategic extra-late nights and daytime naps until I get it just right again and then I'll stick with the old routine. Every month. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

Are we talking the "lady time" of the month? Or just that it happens every month or so that you veer from the schedule?

When I was young, I got it in my head that it was good to vary my sleep schedule all the time--I thought falling into a routine was a sign of being old, and I like to be spontaneous. I still kinda live that way, although a doctor told me recently that it's bad not to have a normal sleep routine that you stick to. But I prefer my way. I like going to bed and waking up at different times every day. Even so, I almost never go to sleep before midnight or 1, although I will get in bed and read or watch TV before then.

My schedule as of lately SUCKS! I get up at 4am be to work at 5am, work until 4pm then fight to stay awake until 7pm when I cant stand it any longer and have to go to bed and at least try and stay awake until 8pm, then lately I have been waking up EVERY nite at 12:15-12:20, I know this because I look at the clock at exactly 12:22 EVERY NITE!! Its really starting to piss me off because im so fricking tired by 4am I wake up and loudly pronounce I HATE MY JOB to start the same crap all over again... I have today and tommorow off and Im just geting ready to take a little nap cuz its cloudy and im home all alone! ~~~~~ Oh that voice...incredible....there should be a musical instrument called George Michael... ~~~~~

I used to work rotating shift work in the miltary. It's actually a known fact it shortens your lifespan and slows down your metabolism. not healthy.

I can't sleep until 3 AM then I'm asleep until 11 AM...I like the idea of exercise to tire myself into going to bed early, I'll try that.
Thx | |

My sleep schedule is usually fucked up. It's never organised. I guess it depends on how much homework I have, how much food I have and my mood.
I've been going to bed at like 3 AM for a bit over a month now. I'll go back to school on Monday, so my schedule will be sufficiently fucked up for a week or so. I know I'll end up going to bed at 2 AM so I can get up at 6 AM That's hot.

I try to get in bed between 9 & 9:30 because I get up at 5am.
But over the Christmas Break, I had the flu, so I would sleep all day- off & on- and then end up Orging at weird hours of the night. OMG! I had trouble sleeping the night before returning to work, so I was January 4th! It took me over a week to get back into a routine. A while back, I was involved with someone who kept late hours, so I'd be up all night on the weekends, and sleep all day on Saturday or Sunday. I'd miss whole days, then Monday mornings were rough. I don't do that anymore, thank goodness... "Love Hurts. Your lies, they cut me. Now your words don't mean a thing. I don't give a damn if you ever loved me..." -Cher, "Woman's World"

I start sleeping until 9am and not turning off the light until 1am. Apart from that, there's nothing good about school holidays
