Disclaimer: Again... this isn't a discussion about race, but rather laundry.

A couple months ago, I asked y'all how to get a dingy white duvet cover white again. Some of you recommended OxyClean (about which I thought ). Well, low and behold, that stuff CRAZY works! My duvet cover is as good as new! I've since used OxyClean on all my white laundry, and it's like a small miracle! One problem: I go through white button-down shirts like toilet paper, replacing them and ultimately giving them away once they are no longer glowing white. But now I have like a thousand pristine white shirts that'll be tough to part from. My closet looks like Smurfette's.

OK -- before Dan beats me to it: This thread does suck. I know that.

Do not apply OxyClean to the Second Funkiest White Man in America.

I'm sorry, but this thread really kind of sucks.

I always use OxyClean in my laundry. A scoop in colors or whites does the trick along with my regular detergent. I really does work well on stains on the carpet too.

Yeah, it works with colors and whites, but is not a "bleach". But you're right - don't mix it with chlorine or ammonia. Use it WITH your detergent, not INSTEAD OF. I love it. It was a novelty when it first came out, but it's just part of my routine. I especially use it when I'm washing sheets, linens, and towels. I want that extra bit of cleaning power. It works great in cold water too, because I wash with cold water on everything, except those linens, sheets, and towels. I use warm on those.

As a matter of fact I did! I got a pair at Benetton. I need to replace the mesh lining with something a bit more substantial, though. They're OK, but not yet as opaque when wet as I want them.

Funny... I've had this very thought.

I used the spray cleaner for counters, etc. one time, got some on my hand and shortly after got a metallic chemical taste in my mouth...it was bizarre, but I think it was that weird OxyClean.

I find this thread rather usefull. I will be using OXYCLEAN.
