Not everything and every time, but sometimes it's nice. I mean, I wouldn't ask my wife to watch every Liverpool football game with me, but for the Champions League final, yep. She knew it was important to me and that her watching with me would make it even more fun for me. smile It's something you do. rose

I suppose I kind of get that.

But I think about if I wanted to go see my favorite band play and my bf HATED that band I'd rather go see them with a friend, who would really enjoy it with me. It's just more fun that way.

So no, I guess I still don't really get it. lol

Simple. Your bf would be a hater. lol But seriously, where my wife is concerned I could never have that depth of feeling about something she likes that perhaps I don't, to the point of being stubborn and closed-minded and missing the positive side of sharing it. There's always a plus to a situation where your partner is enjoying something that makes them happy. That's nice to be around isn't it?

I'm with you. This is ridiculous. I'd rather go do my own thing.

Why do some people think couples should do EVERYthing together?

Co-sign.

I watched me some Liverpool v. Spurs last night.
Not happy about the result though.
sad

I like to watch Soccer because the men are not covered in spandex and padding. I can see their booty!

I will watch Boxing and Hockey, that is about it.

Cricket bores the crap out of me, more so after he explained it to me.
Rugby freaks me out, the men are always piling on top of one another and grabbing and touching each other. The men are ugly too, which does not help.

Is there a ladies Rugby league?

I can't imagine EVER seeing the "positive side" of watching american football.

I really find it loathsome. I suppose I will just have to find someone who hates it as much as I do.

As men and women, it's OK for us to stay in our lanes. No need for wifey to watch sports with me, no need for me to watch the Soaps or The Lifetime chanel with her.
When our respective shows are over, we'll met up in the bedroom tonk biggrin

I've been to baseball games and that can actually be kinda fun (though I'd never watch on tv). I can tolerate basketball and being Minnesotan I have no choice but to kinda sorta not mind hockey. I even know all the rules and finer points (as I come from a hockey family). I've gone to the pub to watch world cup games (with my friend who's english and follows that kinda thing) and that's fun too. Who doesn't like drinking at 9 in the morning? And I've been known to watch a boxing match or two when friends were hosting parties.

But american football? BLEH!!

Yeah, you're not the only one. Of the guys I've dated, only one of them liked to watch sports, and only once in a while. The rest were all just as bored by the idea as I am. thumbs up!

Nah, I know I shouldn’t say that. I do think about fostering or adopting on my own. Something I’m not ready for now, but in a few years I might be.

And then, well, children are different than a partner, aren’t they? I wouldn’t expect children to go off and do things on their own, unsupported (though I did plenty of that myself as a child).
I would require music lessons in addition to the sports, though. lol It’s something I feel strongly about. But I’d encourage whatever talents he or she had. nod

I must say that most sports are much more fun to watch live or at a party. We used to have Boxing parties.
I must admit I love Ice Hockey because I used to watch it live with a good friend that loved it.
I think I would enjoy most any sport live, except American football.
yawn

Oh and never say never about children. When I was 35, there were no kids in my future either.
Though now that I have one, everyone tells me that I cannot have just one.
confuse

To that I say, "Watch me!". If we feel our family needs to be bigger, we are adopting for sure!

nod

Mach

Are we talking a night at the opera? Nup. We're talking sport. And she hates it. But don't fret. She just doesn't know what she's missing out on. It's up to you to convince her that sport is more than just a game. It's life.

Try these five tips below and watching the big game on Sunday just may become a lot more easier.

Explain the game
The best way to learn a sport is to play it. That's easy if you're talking tennis or touch football, but trickier if your passion is baseball or cricket.
Invite her to watch you play on the weekend or take her to see a professional game because watching some sporting heroes (like you) in the flesh may pique her interest.

Teach her appreciation
It might look easy when Matthew Hayden hits a six, but today's professionals train hard to stay at the top of their game.
Encourage her to have a go herself so she'll realise just how hard it is to put bat on ball.

Talk the players up
Avoid scandals like Wayne Carey's indiscretion with his best friend's missus, even if you're only making a joke.
Instead, talk up some players' positive attributes, like David Beckham being the loving father to his boys and John Eales cooking for his mum.

Answer all her questions
In an effort to understand what's going on, many stupid questions will be asked.
Answer every one patiently and in good humour, even if she asks why the umpire has just given a batsman the finger, why rucks and mauls appear to be the same thing and why league players run into defenders, while their union counterparts tend to run around them.

If all else fails, barter
This is the last resort. Tell her that you'll do something she likes if she'll watch the game with you; it might mean enduring a chick flick, but after all, compromise is the key to a long and harmonious relationship.

How stupid lol
