Dilemma: Superbowl at home OR in Miami???

Okay, here's the deal:

Some friends of mine begged and cajoled me into hosting a Superbowl party at the Ponderosa. I agree, we finalize the menu, budget, and guest list. I sent the evite out to guests last Thursday and was planning to go buy provisions tomorrow.

This evening, I get a call from a friend who offers an all expense paid trip to the Superbowl in Miami.

My dilemma is although I'd hate to cancel the party my inclination is to say fuck that and bounce. My real friends would understand and I certainly would if the shoe was on the other foot. But, my good manners are still giving me pangs of guilt, but I'm sure I can kill them bitches with a few dozen mojitos on South Beach. drink

So, what would YOU do? Stay and host a party at your house and watch the game on tv or go kick it in South Beach, possibly go to the game and if not, who cares, you're in South Beach!!!??? hmmm

As one who has done a SuperBowl in Miami . . . .
Host at home and get a raincheck on a trip to Miami.
I went to some great parties but at game time, I realized I was watching . . . a football game.
But if you can't get a raincheck, see what parties he can get into before committing. The best parties I went to weren't in clubs (I never made it to a club . . .)but the scene outside the clubs was booming.
I don't want you to think like me. I just want you to think.

Neither.
The only Conference Championship games I've been to involved the RAIDERS.

SOBE is overpriced, overcrowded and overrated. Full of tacky tourists and vapid posers.

Can you tell I live in S. Fla.? lol

Seriously though, if you just want a break from the cold and it's not costing you anything, come on down as long as you have a substitute hostess for your party.

True. You'll be fine as long as you don't try to engage one of them in intelligent conversation. lol
