That's not an Easter Egg. And Easter Egg is a hidden menu option that leads to you something you don't know is on the disk. For instance, on The Phantom Menace: On Disc 1: Go to the "options" menu. You then highlight the THX. On your remote press 11+03+08. Then you'll see some bloopers from the movie. On The Attack of the Clones: On Disc 1: Select the options menu. Highlight the 'THX' logo and put in 11 then 3 then 8 on your keypad. You have to press enter in between each number. You will get a series of bloopers from different scenes in the movie. etc. It's not a "nod" to something, it's a hidden feature. www.dvdeastereggs.com is a good place to find stuff. I am not sure it's been updated in a while. I found one on the Wall*E DVD. On the Main Menu, navigate up, and a BnL symbol lights up for an extra feature. ET in Star Wars was just a nod to the fact Speilberg and Lucas are great friends (and have produced movies together like Indiana Jones), so it was a fun nudge to Steven.

PS The best way to find an Easter Egg is to navigate in a different than normal direction. Let's say you're navigating down a list, and it LOOKS as though you can't navigate to the left or right....try it anyway. It'll either keep going down the list, or something else will suddenly light up. If it does....click it. Every Pixar feature has one somewhere in the menus, and most Disney ones do. Most big films like King Kong or Lord of the Rings are going to have something in them as well. I saw a $3, two-disk Kevin Smith Q&A DVD, and it had an Easter Egg on it as well.

No. the best way is to go to google and type in the name of the movie and easter egg. I really don't care for them cause they are usually just a lil bit of throwaway that really adds nothing or very little to the movie experience. The only EE's I've truly enjoyed was the ones in the Extended Lord Of The Rings movies. The Most Important Thing In Life Is Sincerity....Once You Can Fake That, You Can Fake Anything.

Either way works. Some people like to dig for them, others just want to find them. Easter Eggs are meant to be silly, fun, or whatever. The Star Wars ones are pretty cool. I like finding the Pixar ones too.

I used to be really into them. There are a crapload in the Moulin Rouge and Nine Inch Nails: And All That Could Have Been DVDs. But now I just don't care. I watch mostly blu rays now and haven't seen any in those.

http://www.fortunecity.co...index.html That site looks fucking ridiculous. Those people have WAY too much time to find an Andy Griffith reference in a Star Wars film (of which there is none). There are obvious nods to things in movies. A lot of these things can be found in wiki pages, or by listening to the director's commentary track (although they aren't always brought up that way). Look up "A113" sometime. It's an inside joke present as an Easter egg in animated films created by alumni of CalArts, referring to the classroom number used by graphic design students at the school. Every Pixar movie has had it in there. In Wall*E, it's the directive of not going back to earth. In Cars, it's Mater's tag number. It's the mini van tag in Toy Story A rat has an ear tag with "A113" engraved on it in Ratatouille, etc etc. Most Disney movies have it. (George Lucas uses "1138" a lot, based on his movie THX 1138. It's Chewbacca's prisoner number in Star Wars: A New Hope, when they break in to rescue Princess Leia.) "A113" is in a lot of movies - almost anything that went through the CalArts college. It's also referenced in Family Guy, Lilo and Stitch, Disney's animated The Three Musketeers, and tons more. Those aren't Easter Eggs, they're just inside jokes, or references. Sometimes a director will put one of his previous movies on a TV in a new movie, or perhaps a character name is based on characters from a friend's movie or something. Even in Star Trek: The Next Generation, there was a funeral scene (on Earth), and some of the names on the gravestones in the background were McFly (Back to The Future), and Vader (Star Wars).

And I will check out the "A113" because I've seen or have those Pixar movies! So those are NOT Easter Eggs just inside jokes?? Ha ha..I knew about THX-1138!! I'm kind of a Star Wars geek! Yes...an Easter egg is a hidden menu option. Even Wikipedia defines it as, "Easter eggs are also found on movie DVDs. In some cases, an extra click to the right or left, or going up in the menu instead of going down to select a choice will bring up a hidden feature, including concept art, humorous outtakes, or deleted scenes." Definitely look up the A113 wiki page. It gives all the Pixar examples, plus other animations that have it (although it might miss some; check google images for "A113", and stuff comes up too). References and/or inside jokes are just that. E.T. in Star Wars a joke. Roger, from American Dad was in an episode of Family Guy (actually two if you count the Star Wars spoof episode "Blue Harvest".) It's kind of like how Blue Oyster Cult had that satanic cross on all their albums. That's a reference. Think of it this way in music form: **Easter Egg = hidden CD track (ie "Wasted Kisses", "Prettyman", "On Sale Now", etc) **Inside joke/Reference = Prince saying "crystal ball" in "Hot Thing" (because CB was the album "Hot Thing" would have originally been on), OR him saying "See you in the purple rain" on "Emancipation" (title track). OR better yet him saying, in "DMSR", "It's time to fix your clock!" as a pointed reference to The Time, etc.

Basically hidden tracks...You reference "Wasted Kisses" and "Prettyman". Like johnart said, "If it's there fuckin' tell me." Those tracks could have made each respective album better but yet were "hidden" tracks (easter eggs)...

You forgot Yoda rapping and throwing moves on the Revenge Of The Sith DVD. I can't recall how to get it on right now.

That's not an Easter Egg. And Easter Egg is a hidden menu option..... No, actually Ernest that's not true. Yes, the examples YOU mentioned were 'hidden menu options' but "easter egg" does NOT equal "menu" - there are easter eggs in plenty of things that don't have menus of any sort. "An Easter egg is an intentional hidden message, in-joke or feature in an object such as a movie, book, CD, DVD, computer program, web page or video game.'
