It slows us down here in Minne, sure, but snow rarely stops anything. If we know a storm is coming we're out pre-treating the streets, have fleets of snow plows running constantly during and after the storms and sand and salt trucks that run about to cover and melt the ice. 10 inches in a short period is a lot though. I'd probably leave work early as long as I brought my laptop home with me. But I'll take 10 inches of snow over the cold we've been having any day. It's currently -1 F (that's -18 to you celsius types) and it's the warmest morning I've had this week. I agree in my country (New Zealand) we are so unprepared with snow, because it is so rare at sea level, even in cool Christchurch, we get one inch of snow, it causes a virtual national emergency, roads get blocked and no one goes to school, everyone loses their power, and I think it is whats caught our UK friends out, they usually et flurries but not 12 inches of snow most winters and this is what is the big difference. Thank God I live in a place where a day with a high of 9 degrees celsius (48F) and low of 5 (41f) is considered polaractic, compared to this winter climate you guys suffer. Seriously here it rains a lot in the winter but a cold day is like 12 degrees (54f) and a mild one 17 (62f). Even in the South Island the snowy days will be temperatures hovering around 0 or plus 1 or 2 degrees, (It seems in some places it can be plus 4 and still snowing), It would be a record if a day failed to reach the 30s fahrenheit in the coldest and deepest winter. So what are u going 2 do? R u just gonna sit there and watch? I'm not gonna stop until the war is over. Its gonna take a long time

My mom just emailed me -- they got 8 more inches of snow!
Here is a picture of the propane tank in our back grove around Christmas (approximately 2 feet of snow):
And here is a photo from yesterday/today: ![]() The check. The string he dropped. The Mona Lisa. The musical notes taken out of a hat. The glass. The toy shotgun painting. The things he found. Therefore, everything seen–every object, that is, plus the process of looking at it–is a Duchamp.
