People are fat here now too. (in Holland) I've lived here for 11 years and have observed the change. I used to remark how I never saw any overweight people here, and now it's almost the same as in the U.S. after 11-12 years. Too much fast food. People are fatter here in Thailand, no doubt about it, and not just the usual rich men and corrupt police officers. The kids, the 7-11 generation, are all eating foot-longs, KFC, french fries, pizza etc. and will soon be a generation of overweight adults. They wouldn't get too far getting in the habit of ripping into overweight clients. Not referring to you personally, just that most of their potential customers would probably be overweight and it's good business to say flattering, comforting things about how they look, even if it flies in the face of the whole reason they're there. Most personal trainers I've dealt with do exactly that, rip into their clients as a motivational tool. Have you ever seen Biggest Loser? A good trainer is not going to lie to you to spare your feelings because that's not going to resolve your issues. My experience is that they're all pretty fucking brutal to get through to their client and help them reach their goals. But what I was talking about was trainers who were pursuing a physical relationship with me specifically because I did not fit the mold of the typical hard body chicks they dealt with every day. I've dated several trainers/athletes/bodybuilder types and they typically fall into two categories. 1. They want me to be in as good a shape as they are and obssessive about working out and eating right and keep harping about it and trynna change me. (That shit ain't happenin') or 2. They want a woman who is the antithesis of their hardbody who is soft and feminine. Most of 'em in my experience were in the second category and finer than a mug  | |
