what speed is your internet connection? do you have the ps3 connected via ethernet or wifi, and i presume you aren't using bandwith on other things at the same time on your connection?

that amount should take just under 2 hours on a 10mb line, as long as the servers can send the data to you quick enough. from there you can multiply or divide for other speeds

i have this:

Bundle Power Plan
Up to 3 Mbps/768 Kbps
For moderate Internet use like playing games online and downloading songs & movies. PLUS additional savings when combined with other Verizon services

just switched to this 5 mins ago:

Turbo Plan
Up to 7.1 Mbps/768 Kbps
For heavy Internet use like streaming videos and working from home. PLUS low rates locked in for 12 months.

Sometimes I have to disconnect from my laptop so I get a better connection during MW2.

3mbs should take about 8 hours or so, 7.1mbs should take about 3 hours or so

possibly the bottleneck is due to your ISP being over subscribed. the PSN network is pretty slow at times, but not that bad

using ethernet is the way to go, wifi adds all sorts of other issues relating to speed, due to interference etc

you can get online stuff to test your connection speed so you can tell if the slowness is at your end or the other end. if you have DSL and are far from the exchange then the UP TO figure can be a lot higher than you can get. your ISP may also cap your bandwidth if on lower packages, so after you've downloaded so much data they slow you down. they probably don't consider a 8gb HD movie moderate use, so may have capped you

The PS3 is the slowest beast I have ever encountered on the net. It rivals a 14,400 modem in speed for downloads.
Studies have shown the ass crack of the average Prince fan to be abnormally large. This explains the ease and frequency of their panties bunching up in it.
