Because I like to live my life fully and I don't think you can do that caught up in a fantasy.

fantasy.

And now that you mention it, if i am allowed. i would like to describe my perfect ideal world.

A world of roses and never ending botanical beauty. fields and fields of dazzling crimson colored roses. The vast cerulean sky as big as oceans. the air smells of roses and honey! In this place i would love to become a combination of a prince /princess. and many kings(and queens if they wish) would come to my kingdom and try to live with me. many will fail, but only one will conquest my heart. we will stop time's fingers and live forever in this decadence of roses and pleasure. then we'll travel into journeys to other countries that are filled with dazzling flowers. inside my house, rose vines will dominate the walls. ivy will sprawl about on chairs and i'll twirl around in a the most beautiful velvet garment, that anyone has ever worn. of course this is only fantasy..and nothing much.

for music: fantasy
for movies: horror fantasy
books: fantasy
video games: fantasy

i love rose imagery like the beginning of oscar wilde's the portrait of dorian grey and kaya's music.

i love flowerly imagery. i am also starting to love the fantasy genre. reality will being very sobering, tends to be a bit depressing to me.

im also becoming a big fan of LGBT fantasy novels
like the
night runner series
magic pawns(mercedes lackey series)
and others.

It's funny. This question was sparked by one of my friends who had been contacted by an old flame and she didn't want to see him because she wanted to preserve the fantasy.

BUT your statements are making me think about my relationship to fantasy. I was captivated by fantasy stories as a child and I think my relationship with fantasy helped me survive my childhood. Now I am a writer and I write fantasy, with allusions to history and reality sprinkled in. But fantasy is what fuels my writing...magic, eeriness, the invisible, the impossible, and dreamscape.

Fantasy.

I allow myself to get lost in it all the time,
to the point where it cheers me up when I'm down.

my fantasy life needs a rework geek

since it's pure fantasy, why am I not getting out there and hiring cars for free and driving on the autobahn and staying in swanky hotels and having lots of hot lovers who are learning to be massage therapists and chocolate makes you lose weight and… blahblah

It's dangerous when you live your life based on fantasy.

There's no harm in dreaming and having fantasies, so long as your feet are on solid ground.

I need a bit of both.

Althoough I'm leaning towards fantasy. Living inside my head would be oh so fantastic wonderful. I have a pretty amazing dream-life too. Sometimes I want to sleep all day just keep dreaming. redface

Go for it!

I think I've reached a point where I can let fantasy flourish in my writing -- but only as enabled by a grounded realistic approach of having clear goals and setting aside time to sit down and work at it. smile

I used to fantasize about being a writer, but then there was nothing for others to read.
