I don't fear the dark, but....

I had a strangely spooky walk just now to the 7-11 down the street.
The power in the building went out, and I got ticked off and decided
to go to the 7-11 and grab some candles.

Anyways, I walked down 14 flights of steps not realizing that only
2 floors had emergency lights and the rest of the floors were basically
in the dark.

Although I'm not afraid of the dark, the stairwell cast long shadows from
my dimly lit, cheap-ass cellphone, and every step I took had a strange
hissing echo to it. I swear to God, I thought I heard that sound Predator
makes before he shoots a spear through somebody. lol

It didn't help that once I finally made it to the ground floor that
the street was dark too and I must have seen 20 rats scurrying around
the place and a small pack of dogs walking towards me in the distance,
their shadows casting long ominous shaddows. lol

I finally reached the 7-11, and all they had were birthday candles confused

By the time I got back the power was back on the Internet re-established.

Swear to gawd, I don't fear the dark. Never have.
But I kind of understood why folks fear it tonight. lol

predator is your scary sound?
when I'm out in the dark woods, I hear the loud twig snapping sound from Blair Witch

disbelief

even in my backyard in broad daylight I hear that sound shake

I think the sound was coming from a gecko or something. They make really strange noises here. I would normally attribute such a sound to a frog or something, but I haven't seen a frog since I've gotten here. My hunch is frogs are very sensitive to PH-balance in the environment and Bangkok is terribly poluted, so I'm sure they're extinct here. lol
It must have been a gecko. But I only heard the noise once.

Sounds like me going to the bathroom in the middle of the night. Even if I don't see them I can hear the rats, geckos and 'jing jok'.

There are frogs in Thailand. We used to have a perverted one called Thomas that sat up on a ledge near the ceiling in our bathroom. You don't see many though so you're probably right. lol

You're lucky you didn't run into a snake. smile

that noise you heard, behind you in the stairwell???? it was santy claus, sneaking around, keeping an eye on you to see if you are naughty or nice.
