Snow day plans?

Well for those of you not on the east coast of the states, there is evidently a bit of a blizzard going on...30 inches of snow expected here sad

I'm at work alone right now, because no one wanted to do the Saturday rotation this weekend, so we drew straws and well...I lost neutral

What are you going to do on this horrible day?

biggrin
If you will, so will I

I live in the east, but I am far enough away from the coast that we will probably miss the storm.

I have a bit going on today. Yesterday, I graduated from college, and today is my birthday, so I am going to go out this evening.

No snow here. And none expected, I don't think.

My day is gonna be SUPER FUN. In case ya don't know, my condo is in an old historic building and happens to have a global marketplace on the main floor. Friends of mine are bringing their kids over ina bit to have their picture taken with santa and have lunch there, so I'm gonna stop down and say hello and have lunch with them.

THEN I have a couple of presents to wrap. I was gonna do it this morning and ended up cleaning instead.

THEN I'm heading for a quick, last minute shopping trip to get my outfit for this evening together.

THEN it's time for Darin's annual hollydaze party. My friends and I have been throwing/attending the same party for about 10 years, maybe more. You guys have seen pics of me from it over the years too. lol

Every year I mull wine for the occasion. This year is no exception but I'm bringing another treat as well. I have infused sugar with various flavors and molded it into cubes. These will be placed in a flute and champagne poured over for super yummy champagne cocktails. I've made cherry and raspberry and pomegranate and pineapple and anise and orange flower and even sassafras! Yes, sassafras!

And there will be presents and lots of yummy food and more drinks and a good time all around. I'm really looking forward to it. mushy excited

A little bit of snow wouldn't hurt for the mood to be even more festive. But it's not necessary. And if past years have shown us anything, it wouldn't stop a single guest from making their way over.

No snow here today (saints be praised). I have two performances of A Christmas Carol. My sweetie's coming to the matinée, then taking me to dinner between shows. cool

Don't eat beans or brussel sprouts. Or if you do, let loose on the stage and blame it on the chirrunz.

NO worries!

We're going to one of our favorite restaurants here in Madison (that serves Wisconsin supper club-type food) and probably have a #8 - a lazy susan with different kinds of sausages, mustard and sauerkraut, plus a side of shoestring fries with spicy paprika sauce. It's kind of a tradition for us.

I just have to be careful not to eat too much or I'll have a "food baby" and won't be able to get that damn corset back on. rolleyes

If my dinner does...uh..."backfire" on me, my petticoat's poofy enough to muffle anything. lurking

Thankfully most of the lines around me are buried. I've been pretty lucky so far. I've lived here for 18 years, and I've never had an outage longer than about 6 hours. I pity those folks in nothern Virginia. They always get f**ked!

i'm in the netherlands and it's been freezing here for the past
week. it's actually dropped to -10 celcius.

i try to take my dog out for longer walks during daylight bcuz
it's just too cold for a half hour walk at 23:00. last night i
came back from friends and took him for a walk and he raced
around the block. normal time is about 20 minutes and he pulled
me along and we were back in about 5 minutes, lol.

there was a fair bit of snow earlier this week and it's still
on the ground but it's not a hindrance since it's only about 2
centimeters.

i do love this kind of weather when the sun shines during the
daytime. it's great for walking in the woods with the dog, we
sometimes walk for about 2 hours in that kind of weather. but
i always make sure to take some food and a thermos of coffee.

as long as there's no wind, i'm ok. wind makes me angry for
some weird reason. if the wind blows real hard i get so damn
angry just walking on the street that i could kill someone.

smile
and true love lives on lollipops and crisps

HI! wave
(I'm in NJ)...

I just got back in... I was at the mall at 8:30 to finish up last-minute things, I went to the supermarket, dollar store, and a few other places.
I even managed to squeeze in a nice diner breakfast! foodnow

I dropped my sister off, and she commented on how we got it all done before the snow came. I pulled off, and WHOOSH! Now it's whipping around out there! eek

I guess I'll clean, then grade some papers and wrap gifts... as soon as I get off here. typing

Hot chocolate later... cloud9

I don't give a damn if you ever loved me..."
