Posting packages from US to UK?

Does anyone know how long it would take to post a package from America to the UK?
I want to buy a costume for a party on the 27th of December and I can save about £100 getting it from the states?
Can anyone give me some examples of their stories
thanks.
Fuck the funk - it's time to ditch the worn-out Vegas horns fills, pick up the geee-tar and finally ROCK THE MUTHA-FUCKER!! He hinted at this on Chaos, now it's time to step up and fully DELIVER!!

I just posted a package from Australia to the US and they told me it will take 10 days max, so your package shouldn't take longer than that. wink

If it's going to a major city in the UK then it only took me about 3 or 4 business days.

But then again, I was flying it out of a major city in the US.

If you live in a small town add a day. If the destination is in a small town add a day.

It could take over a week. shrug

It would probably get to Glasgow pretty quickly.

But stolen once there.

It all depends.
When my mom sends things to us from the states going regular (USPS to Royal Mail), it usually takes about 5-7 business days.
She shipped us something last week, on Friday I believe, it has not arrived yet.

We have shipped things from the UK to the US using DHL and Fed Ex because Royal Mail wanted to charge more than any other carrier. It took about 5 business days with both of those carriers.
We took a parcel to Royal Mail yesterday and they said it would take 28 days and cost £38. It was a small box and the contents hardly cost that much, a few Christmas Crackers, a few photos and 2 Christmas cards.

Don't get me started on the amount of money me and my family spend to ship to and from the states & UK.

pissed

Anywho...hope that helped.
Probably not.

Try shipping something from London to Glasgow.
I guarantee it'll get there in 2 days or less.

But, probably get stolen once there.

Funny how some things shipped to Europe get there faster than things shipped across the U.S.! razz
