ladies - do you ask guys out?

If you're single - do you do it now? If you're married - have you ever?

A post on another thread made me think of this...

thesexofit said he hates when girls won’t ever ask a guy out.

Looking back, I don’t think I have ever asked a guy out on a date.

But I have often made the first move or been the one to stick my neck out and say “I like you”, even if in a roundabout kinda way.

Never did and never will....I think it's more romantic if they do it.

I've been asked out. I have a raincheck on a date pending right now.

If only though it could soon be someone I find really attractive and click with socially...

I'd take a girl much more seriously if they asked me out. I think the romantic cultural hoops (like guys pursuing the girl traditonally) are mostly disfunctional within the reality of a real long term relationship. They're mostly good for infatuations and short term fun or more superficial connections from what I see around me.

I really like going to concerts, so I have asked guys to join me. nod

One time, I was whining about the possibility of being rejected, and a male friend pointed out that they go thru that all the time. He even brought up how women who are with their friends have no problem dissing them... boxed

I have been told by platonic male friends, tho, that being asked out by a woman can be seen as too aggressive... shrug

I love being sought after - makes me feel all giggle
But I find I'm usually the more aggressive of either party.. shrug

When I was single I did.

Don't know if I would now though.

Who am I kidding. I probably would. If he's tasty I'd ask.

As a man, I have been invited places, and have gotten comments that were basically like being hit on, but I don't think I have ever been asked out by a woman.

Okay, there is one time I can remember where an older woman introduced herself & gave me her card, that's it!

Why asking out when there's so many other ways to express oneself
Is there any place of refuge one can flee from this insanity

true, women often initiate relationships, they just don't seem to do the actual "asking out." They just make their feelings known.

well that's just insane! It must be one of those situations supermodels always describe of how guys never ask them out.

I think I said I'd ask you out if our lives were different, but they're not

woot! I have probably asked you this, but did he ask you to marry him or did it just happen? Let me guess, he nonchalantly said "so you wanna get married, eh?

Yes, I used to.
The check. The string he dropped. The Mona Lisa. The musical notes taken out of a hat. The glass. The toy shotgun painting. The things he found. Therefore, everything seen–every object, that is, plus the process of looking at it–is a Duchamp.

well it's better than my friend who called me to say "I knocked my bitch up and now I have to marry her" (his bitch was laughing in the background, at least smile )

I have asked guys out. And I usually make the first move.

I go after what I want and I dont like wasting time.

My current boyfriend-I had to ask him to kiss me first. He said he would have waited for the 4th date to kiss me to avoid rejection. He wanted to make sure I really liked him.

I'd rather ask someone out and get everything out in the open. Because that person may want to ask me out but he's too chicken too. lol
