But I wish there were more guys who combined the dramatics, dips, etc. of New Way with the better arm controls and posing striking of Old Way. I think Javier Ninja is really good at this, but I haven't seen too many others.

I would be down with all the fem if it was the strict machine. But it's almost always a mess. Occassionally I see a fem performance that is off the hook but that is about 2 or 3% of what I've seen.

I'm neither here nor there on it. I don't find it disturbing that a boy should sashay (if it comes naturally). I wish I'd been encouraged to do so rather than felt it was something I had to hide.

In any case, if it's good for the girls...shrug

I don't like the skimpy clothes on a kid this age, but her walk is SICK! She's far better than 95% of the girls on ANTM.

I agree with you on skimpy clothing.
I just pulled her up cuz she came to mind given the subject at hand.

It's accepted behavior (got her on tv) for a girl.

I know. I'm not down with the skimpy clothes thing either though...and the majority of fashion styling I used to do in the US was with kids, freelancing from Vogue Bambini on down to Sesame Street. Kids can rock some serious fashion and serve some serious face, but they need to be covered up....and I don't want to see them in "baby heels" until puberty, either.

I think that was bothering me, too. I'm sitting here thinking, are we telling kids so young that the only way to be loved and adored as children is to sashay? At 9? Ain't they s'posed to be playing with toys and jumping rope and shit at that age?

I don't disagree. The vogueing (for kids) is not my thing. But I'm trynna be Devil's Advocate and think on the other side. A lot of kids only get adored as children by getting on a field to play some uber-masculine sport, with parents screamin at the top of their lungs. Crazy as that foolish queen on the vids.

But yeah, I think kids should be out front playin stick-ball.
Those were the days. sigh

So were we just spoiled because maybe kids our age had the liberty to play jacks and crack each other across the head with toys, or have times really changed...??? Fer fucks sake I just had a birthday and I'm honestly examining these things in my old age...I remember taking a youtube look at baby Janet Jackson ( I think 9 yrs. old) playing Mae West during a skit on the Jacksons variety show and being totally grossed out...you know how Mae West had those moves dripping in innuendo...I was thinking, dude, give that skit to one of the older sisters whofarted.

I don't see an issue. I'd rather have a boy or girl vogueing than going out and getting into trouble. Not that they are mutually exclusive.

It's dancing.

I would prefer the vogueing to the runway movement...the latter (and the manner in which she is doing it) is so decidedly based on based on sensuality for me...I remember having to take lessons a gazillion years ago and the impetus for the movement really is "see me. love me. adore me. desire me." So that's prob why I don't want to see 9 year olds in skimpy clothes jutting their hips own a runway with a come hither look in the eye....I'm almost 40...I know what it means when you move your hips like that...gua-ran-teed.
