Read the story, the headline really isn't accurate.
He tried to save his son, but couldn't. The boy was trapped in the vehicle. The wife was at the surface, so he went to save her instead of saving neither of them. I think it's awful to characterize it as "he chose his wife over his son." He was in a horrifying situation, tried to save both, and could only save one. | |
