I bought my daughter a cell phone from bestbuy.com on Thanksgiving morning that was part of the black Friday "door buster" specials. $99.99 phone for $49.99. Even got a shipping notice that night. Now it's sold out. Ha, ha!!!
I've always kept up with the black Friday sales and this was my first year not going out. I knew before hand from bfads.net that a lot of the stores were putting some of their stuff for sale early on their web sites.

RE5 is a pretty easy game to find. the price made it attractive to the masses. just odd that something sells out in 10 minutes online, 10 minutes in the store and then is mraculously available in mass quantities 10 hours later.

Guess they couldn't have arranged for a delivery for later than day anticipating current stock would sell out? That's just too logical for a retailer. The best retailers stay in business by screwing over their customers . . . . I don't want you to think like me. I just want you to think.

My daughters and I went to our local mall on Friday, we each walked away with something from our wishlist, and none of us payed full price. We even had a perfect parking space.

Ex-Moderator | If they still honored the sale price later when they had more available I'm failing to see how anyone was "ripped off"?
Wouldn't it have been to their advantage to sell you it if they had it? Especially since they weren't getting any more money by you coming back later? There's no bait and switch here and nothing for the store to gain to hide stock in the backroom if they indeed had it. |

that's the ripoff i'm talking about. they created a false sense of limited availibilty to make people get there for their "doorbusters" when all along there were plenty to be had. like i said, it was sold out online, 12 hours earlier and then miraculously every store in the area had it available. i'm happy i got mine, but it just reinforces why i stay my but in the bed on black friday.

The best retailers stay in business by screwing over their customers . . . . People think retailers are all in on some insidious plot to deprive people of their goods/increase prices/withhold merchandise/whatever. It's not that complicated. Either the store is genuinely sold out, or merchandise is not allowed on the floor at specific times due to contracts with supplying companies. There's nothing underhanded about it at all.
