Call of Duty multiplayer...is this normal?

Played my first ever online multiplayer game in Call of Duty 4 last night....what an odd experience that was.

I first started in a game with 2 American guys who were clearlybthe only people with headsets on and were chatting to themselves. They were discussing sex, the cold weather, college football and trouble with the law...all the while I could hear them through my tv set!!! Is that normal.

Next one of these cheeky fellas dtarted telling his mate I was a "retard" for getting killed.....and I can't do anything except argue with my TV that it wasn't my fault all the while I can hear his conversation.

I quit in the end because I was genuinely offended...how silly smile

What a strange invention and what an idiot....spouting his weird drivel for all to hear

Its the same when some 12 year old kid is calling you a Noob.
The games for bloody 18 year olds mad
Fuck the funk - it's time to ditch the worn-out Vegas horns fills, pick up the geee-tar and finally ROCK THE MUTHA-FUCKER!! He hinted at this on Chaos, now it's time to step up and fully DELIVER!!
woot!

I just found it weird that I could hear them talking to eachother...1 because it's crazy conversation and 2 it must be chaos with 12 people all yapping away.

It's also frustrating when I cant answer back to this moron thousands of miles away... I'm not a retard, I don't care what you've stolen from the 7/11, I don't care that you play Safety (whatever that is), and I'm sure she was that wet because she was thinking of something other than you headset wear ass!!!!

it's normal. the online lot are misfits for the most part. You can mute them on the player screen during play...

or, what I do....

any bluetooth headset will work with PS3, just turn it on, mute the mic and put it down. No more talking. smile

Im totally new to it all, everybody was laying mines and explosives and I was trundling around aimlessly with night vision and 2 guns.

Do u need to select the 'perks' like claymore before you start?

yeah, you do that in your create a class screen...I think you have to advance a little before you start unlocking things like claymores and stuff.

I started playing about a year ago. I'm still not that good, but it's loads of fun.

Oh I see, I could see C4 if I select to play as demolitions...but it's not there in game.

Will give it another whirl tonight
