How do KISS keep their makeup on while performing?

I was watching a vid yesterday and this question just popped into my head.

How the hell do they keep the make up on their face, without it melting under stage lights/moving around the stage/drumming etc.
Do they touch up off stage, or is it specially designed for them?

Makeup melts off me on mildly hot days


i know this will probably get moved to Non Music, but thought it was more a make up ? and not a music ? so i would ask it here.

As time progressed, and make ups got better, so did the "staying power" of their made up faces. The makeup they use isn't what you're getting at WalGreens or even Macy's or Sephora.

Remember, these guys have been doing their makeup for years, themselves, not by someone else. They have it down to a science and can do it in record time, and probably in their sleep.

It's STAGE MAKE-UP that professionals use. you can probably Google Theatrical makeup to find out.

I just went to a KISS show and was pretty close to the stage. All of the members' makeup stayed on well. Gene Simmons' was coming off around his chin area cause he sticks his damn tongue out all the time. Plus he has this part of the show where he spits out a mouthful of fake blood and it runs down his face.
