iTunes question?

I have some CD's that are compliation CD's,and CD's that contain the same song that a compliation CD might. When I imported the CD's they broke up into all these different groups, even though all of them are listed by album title. How do I get all the songs that are on one album together in the same group instead of splitting up like they have. Does that make sense? lol

I think if you import them directly to a new playlist they'll at least be organized there, if not in your big music list.

This happened to me and I fixed it. I'll have a look see if I can remember, but someone here will know.

Not much help I know, but I've maybe given you some hope!

Right click on track and Apply sort field/Same Album. You might need to mess around a bit, I can't remember exact order of events. But in that ball park.

IIRC a lot of P stuff fractures all over the place. Graffiti Bridge springs to mind.

A bit laborious, maybe best waiting for someone with better knowledge to give a quicker solution.

I already tried that, but I still have the same issue. I don't know why they would'nt all just list togehter by the same album title. They appear the same way on my iPod.

What do you mean? Search for an album by the artist? I always do that. I will give an example..

Say I have some CD's that are by the Jackson 5,and then I have a few compliation CD's that contain a few of the same songs that are on the Jackson 5 CD's. I end up with like 11 different Jackson 5 options under the artist search. They don't all stay arranged according to the album title they were on.

no I mean the headings above the songs

If you're looking at your big list of every song in itunes, at the top it says "name, time, artist, album by artist"

it will arrange them by whichever you click on

I was having some issues similar to this on my ipod.

The song order was messed up on the playlists (I put everything into playlists for some reason). It was playing songs alphabetically. I think this is how I fixed it, by going into the playlists in itunes and clicking on the heading for the track numbers.

So it might be worth messing around with it.

Arrange them so they are all next to eachother, highlight/select them all

right cluck and select the info option

in there you can name them all as part of the sane collection

there is also a 'part of compilation' section to check
