OMG I've just kicked my lodger out! Ok there have been cash flow issues ever since he moved in. His mobile phone got disconnected, his car got clamped because he hadn't paid the tax. Fair enough I thought monetary issues ra ra ra.....
Anyway couple of weeks ago bailiff notices came through the door. Call me inconsiderate but that is not on. I spoke to him seriously about it but he was so lassai faire. Like it didn't matter. I said to him then Are there any other debts?, Anything I don't know about? No he said. No credit cards no overdrafts Brown envelope this morning. 'What's that? I say. OVERDRAFT!!!! he says from a previous address. I'm sorry but that is it. A friend of mine came over and we kicked him out. I feel awful. if you've gotta pay for things that you've done wrong I've gotta big bill coming at the end of the day- Gil Scott Heron

He owes me £200ish which I don't give a flying fuck about to be honest. I can afford to stay where I am on my own. The idea was to take a bit of pressure off me financially, have some company and so on.
There was no written agreement so he has no leg to stand on as far as the rozzers are concerned he was stopping here for a few weeks until he sorted himself out. I have lost afriend though and thats a shame but I can't share a house with someone I don't trust. Bottom fuckin line. if you've gotta pay for things that you've done wrong I've gotta big bill coming at the end of the day- Gil Scott Heron

That's such a difficult position to be put in, but you did the right thing. Try not to feel bad about it.
It was not you being mean, it was you keeping yourself secure and there is nothing wrong with that. You even tried to discuss it with him and he was not forthright, so yeah, you had to get him out of their. So much could have gone horribly wrong for you financially if he'd decided that since he was close to you and your financial documents are right there...easy to steal your identity and drag you into his mess. Sorry you're distressed about it though. I'm firmly planted in denial | |
