My money is on the Lakers or Spurs. The Bulls will be in last place. The Clippers #1 pick has a broken knee cap. What else is new? Boston will be the next 18(?) times NBA champions (barring injuries). And it will be a shame because Boston & L.A, Lakers have too many banners to begin with.

Portland had a sloppy first game overall, but showed some real flashes in the 2nd and 3rd quarters. Nate McMillan had some interesting lineups, though, to say the least. Andre Miller should start, and Greg Oden should have had more minutes toward the end- it was his defense at the end when McMillan finally put him back in that sealed the win for Portland. Even though the game was uneven, it's nice to see that Portland can play a pretty crappy game and still get a relatively easy win. They'll have to tighten up the ship against Denver, though. It was the first game of the year, Portland will figure things out. They were rusty. Roy shot 5 of 18..ouch. The 26 turnovers But there were a lot of good news. Outlaw scored 23 off the bench. The Blazers defense held Houston to .370 shooting. THe blazers owned the backboards (51-33), blocked 12 shots and shot superbly from 3-point range (.476) and the free-throw line (.909).
I was hoping that Oden would have had a field day with Chuck Hayes guarding him. But Oden picked up some early and quick fouls, some of those calls were weak though. I mean, I thought that the league was going to go after the floppers. In fact, all of the Blazers Bigs got into early foul trouble; LaMarcus Aldridge and Joel Przybilla. That really hurt their offensive production. But in the end, good win for the Blazers. “When I give food to the poor, they call me a saint. The Rockets are smart and savvy and know how to draw fouls, legit or not! Still, a win is a win is a win, and I'll take it! Feel free to join in the Prince Album Poll 2018! The Cavs lost another one!!! The Minnesota Timberwolves start off 1-0...I am really shocked. I am about to watch the new/old look Phoenix Suns. Can we regain the 7 seconds and shoot offense? We are about to find out. “When I give food to the poor, they call me a saint. When I ask why the poor have no food, they call me a Communist.” Brazilian bishop Dom Hélder Câmara

I'm going to confidently predict we'll get at least 48. I was thinking about that when I was playing NBA2K10. 50 wins is very possible for the Hakws. But like you, I see them getting 45-48 wins this season also. [Edited 10/30/09 6:27am] “When I give food to the poor, they call me a saint. I was digging the Phoenix Suns, but I am going to stick with the Portland Trailblazers. I am going to stay on that bandwagon. The gave the Nuggets a run last night.

Bulls have a bigger upside than the Knicks, Gray. Derrick Rose is a difference-maker, a potential superstar. That's what you need to win in this league, man. Knicks are plain garbage - too soft, too small, no defense - July 1st, 2010 can't come fast enough.

Portland played horribly against Denver, the division rival who beat them for the division title on a tiebreak last year and who was on the 2nd night of a back-to-back. There was little to no intensity- how do you shoot 28 for 81?! That said, they were dominant on the boards, and if they keep that up, they'll win a lot of games this year. Has Allen Iverson lost his mind?
