Apple "Get a Mac" Web ad: "Ultimate Upgrade" Security cameras outside an Apple Store reveal "PC Switchers" or people choosing to make the ultimate upgrade to superior Macs instead of WIndows 7ista. "PC" takes matters into his own hands. In a "World Without Walls," who needs Windows?...

I really like Windows 7! It's still clumbsy in places compared to OS-X, but the casual user is not going to care about that. It's more elegant, it feels a little bit faster (though not what I was expecting cause Vista was so clunky). The registry isn't any different from what I can tell (but I didn't dig very far). I think it will be a major improvement over Vista (and yes--XP) from a user standpoint, but not any different if you're an IT tech supporting it. It still has the registry and .dll hell is only very clumsily addressed (like in Vista). (let's face it, .msi's self-healing technology only marginally improved dll hell). Overall I'll be glad that my next PC will have Windows 7 on it, but even more glad I'll still have my mac I'm dying to see if it's safer from Viruses though. I assume it would be. | |
