The amazing cat story!!! While shopping for winter clothes this afternoon I got the most remarkable telephone call.
apparently a man had found a cat with a really bad wound on his ear and decided to take him to the Vet. The Vet scanned the cat to see if he was microchipped and it turned out he was. This microchip led to the phone call because it turns out that this is a cat that we had considered lost since 2004!!! so basically we had moved in 2004 but only two or three blocks from our previous location. We kept both our cats indoors for two or three weeks so that they could get used to their new home and after that time we started to allow them to go outdoors. Well, one cat, Pringles, would return every night while the other cat, Shai, simply vanished. We put up flyers, canvassed the neighborhood, searched online, and visited pet shelters all to no avail. So here we are all these many years later with a cat we thought lost for good... . [Edited 10/24/09 19:44pm] A working class Hero is something to be ~ Lennon

Awwww, Does he remember you guys? Excellent question!! We have a very particular way of calling our cats (sort of a kissy-kissy/tsk-tsk-tsk sound?) and when we saw him at the back of the Vets holding cage I called to him and he immediately came to the front bars... brought tears to my eyes... That's a nice happy story! Will you let it wander outside now? Do you think she/he will know the way back home now? "Free URself, B the best that U can B, 3rd Apartment from the Sun, nothing left to fear" Prince Rogers Nelson - Forever in my Life -

This is a good story to tell people when they ask, "Is it really necessary to microchip my cat?" Glad you got her back. What a great story!! RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

We're on the second floor now, we have to train him to be a 100% indoor cat... A working class Hero is something to be ~ Lennon
