1st 8 Minutes of "V" are online now: http://abc.go.com/shows/v/
There's some really ham-fisted acting in this, but it shows some promise. Love the swipe at "Independence Day" being a rip-off of the 1st "V". Unfortunately ABC has halted production to see what these 1st 4 episodes in November do. That's a huge danger sign. It's really hard to get people to come back to a show after a hiatus only 4 shows in. Studies have shown the ass crack of the average Prince fan to be abnormally large. This explains the ease and frequency of their panties bunching up in it. |

I think its gonna try and be a reboot like Battlestar Galatica. Which I'm cool with but I don't think that's gonna pull the numbers that ABC wants. I think it would serve itself and the V fans much better if it would be put on the Sci fi channel instead. I haven't watched the eight minutes yet, and I never watched the original miniseries or series in the '80s...but nevertheless, I have high hopes for this show. This could be very, very good if done right, and I like what ABC is doing by putting this and FlashForward on the air. They both have the potential to keep ABC in the Lost money they've become accustomed to. Actually, I like a lot of what ABC is doing this season so far, so I'm gonna give it my support because I want more of those types of shows. | |

Things I liked:
The "where were you..." (1.38) the transition between the shower curtain and the security gate in the jewelry store. (3.48) Falling Jesus : he should have said "Jesus Christ look out!" (6.40) the Independence day joke!  (and the geek in yellow)
(7.08) the FBI mom totally Appolonia'D that Army guy
(7.45) the mom protecting her son the last shot...but I saw it coming! Thing I did not like: (more personal than anything) (4.13) the pilot that seemed to be dead. When I was a kid I saw a paratrooper fall to his death when his chute did not open. (4.39) hiding under the table. that is not the best place to be. it will protect you from small falling things, bit not if the roof collapses. (6.18) how did the military get there so fast? Less than an hour? I guess maybe they have some units on stand by? But I am skeptical! Over all I liked the look and the acting and the way it was cut. If they can mix. I might check it out. Saw it, love it, can't wait. I have the DVD of the original mini-series. I picked it up at a library book sale last year. I remember when it was on TV though. I'm anxious for the new one. | |
