Folk Festivals are fun!!! Yesterday my boyfriend and I went to the Folk Festival in our city and we had the time of our lives!!! I went the year before by myself and found that it was a great event to attend. They have various cultural groups who perform by either dancing or singing in their native tongue. There also exhibits, a marketplace, and food vendors for days. Foods ranged from Italian sausage with onions and green peppers, to crab cakes, to greek dishes, to african dishes, to indian dishes, to vegetarian dishes. There are also events for kids to participate in as well. Yesterday was pretty cloudy and it even rained for a couple of hours, but that didn't stop us...nor others either. The event was free and open to the public, the only cost was for parking ($5) and for any food that you were going to eat. They have volunteers walking around with buckets for patrons to donate funds to keep the event free. I make sure I give whatever I can to put in that bucket because this free event is one event that I love to attend. I used to attend the State Fair every year, but now I make sure I put the Folk Festival on my calendar. Just wanted to share in this good news. I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince. | |
