Yeah, my boyfriend (now husband) and I lived apart for a year, and then a few weeks here and there. . .he's actually gone right now. He's from central Europe, and his immediate family now lives in L.A.
It was hell. I don't recommend it. But if the people involved are committed to making it work, it can. It helps if you have lots of money (for travel, communication, etc), but we didn't, and things still turned out well. Doves, Mel!ssa | |

That all depends on what one would call a long distance love affair. But I did have a lass that I courted and she dumped me and became a model and got married and moved to texas. It is very hard. I dated my hubby for 8 mos. while he was in LA and I was in SF. Thank god 4 Southwest Airlines!
My girlfriend lives in LA and her boyfriend lives in Hawaii! It is absolute torture 4 her... I don't know how they will resolve it. He is 2nd generation and doesnt want to leave. She is an actor and won't get any work on the islands... tough stuff... Compromise is key! | |

It is long distance...but after reading some of the posts here, where planes are the mode of transport to reach the loved one, I am all of a sudden feeling not too far away from my man, who is an hour and a half drive away. It is a problem. We are together though... | |
