Dad Tells 4yo Cocaine is a candy

NEWARK, N.J. - New Jersey police say a 4-year-old boy shared cocaine with his friends at day care because his father told him it was candy.

Newark police say 25-year-old Shaheed Wright of East Orange put several baggies of cocaine inside his son's jacket after police nearly caught him with it. The boy shared the drugs with three other 4-year-olds at his day care center Friday.

A teacher spotted a girl with a baggie in her mouth and called authorities after seeing the white powdery substance.
The children were taken to a hospital, but none were injured. Police found more baggies of cocaine after searching the boy's pockets.

Wright was charged with four counts of child endangerment and drug offenses. He is not listed in the phone book, and police do not know if he has retained a lawyer.

That is soo wrong.

i have to take a lot of meds for arthritis, and have always told my son the truth, what the medication is for..

he knows he is NEVER to take anything that hasnt been prescribed by a doctor, or a pharmacist.. (in his case, anti histimines for allergies) and most importantly, NEVER to take anyone elses medication.

pretending that drugs/meds are candy is just not on...what kid doesnt like/want candy

Christ, I'm so happy those kids didn't swallow that mess...their little bodies are so tiny, I can only imaginge what happens when they ingest those bags of coke...I wonder how different it is when you compare it to adults that have tiny bags of coke and heroin explode inside of them when they're transporting it. I can just imagin the internal bleeding that could take place, the seizures....

...anyway, I'm just happy that these kids are safe disbelief
