h1n1 and the immunocompromised

Just wanted to say if you are someone you know is in any way immunocompromised to be extra careful as the H1N1 continues to spread and kill. Every few days I hear of another person passing away from factors related to H1N1. So watch out extra carful for yourself and those you love. I have a feeling the worst is yet to come.

So remember the rules: wash your hands, do not touch your face, and give a person a little bit more space.

If you feel sick get it checked out. Remember many cases are mild and could be mistaken for a cold. Make sure they KNOW any specifics they need to know to determine the best treatment.

Yah I have had it, and a few peeps I work with have had it as well (we work in the catalyst of disease that enters this country and spreads in dealing with overseas travellers) but because we are in excellent health it didn't kill us. None of us were given tamiflu either. No record of otherwise healthy peeps have died as a result, there were underlying illnesses or immunodeficiencies involved. Most peeps will get the virus one time or another and probably won't even know they have it. I didn't at the time I mistook it for a tropical virus when I was in Vanuatu and I use antibacterial constantly.

Having H1N1 isn't a death sentence, let's just state that too.

I've not heard anymore on this, but the Fox production of BONES is shut down, and David Boreanez is the one out sick, and was rumored to have H1N1.

Backstreet Boys' Brian Littrell has confirmed he has H1N1, and is in isolation right now.

I know! For most it is no worst than the seasonal flu (so far). The media has made it out to be so horrible that I suspect that many people get a bit of a fever and say "this is not that bad so it must not be the swine flu!" and go on about their normal routine and spread it more.

When I had it I though it was an allergy! I had a fever for about 30 hours and felt bad but not that bad! But when a person I live with got tested and was positive for type A flu (H1N1) I was taken aback.

So that is why I wanted to make a post about it for thoes with other health issues that even a mild fever might be a sign of the Swine and to get it checked out.
