Dear oh dear - Venus lost, Kim won - whether she had injury or not!!

And if she had injury and it was as bad/severe as that supposed strapping indicated (or as bad as her father 'carried on' about), then why oh why compete in both doubles and singles. She obviously thought she was fit enough to play and win - otherwise she wouldnt do that to her body.

Come on Kimmy, you're a 'true' ambassador for the sport, and a inspiring role model. If you lose the semi you achieved more than anyone wouldve thought, and if you win, im sure it will only be becasue Serena was injured...either way your a true champion to me

rolleyes Venus was not a 100% with a knee injury that's plagued her all year so it's not like she got her at her best and it still took 3 sets for Kim to win. shrug

That upper half of the women's bracket is WIDE open. I expect Serena to take another Slam victory.

On the men's side, I'll be pulling for Fernando Gonzalez or Roger Federer. I wouldn't mind Monfils winning, either.

Monfils just didn't have the strength to hang with Nadal, but they had some awesome rallies.

Djokovic is kinda who I'm rooting for right now, but anyway you shake it, there's some great tennis coming our way.

They can't top Clijsters though, for the feel-good, no-sex-screaming story of the tournament!

How strange would an Oudin/Clijsters final be?

The men's quarters should be awesome.

Monfils and Nadal were a lot of fun to watch, but the Men's side is uber boring to me. Has been since Agassi left.

I think Federer is one of the best ever, and Nadal has the potential to be. I really like Djokovic - he is hilarious and good. I have never been able to get behind Roddick.

Yeah, I don't take nothing away from Federer or Nadal talent wise but both of 'em are lacking in the charisma dept IMO. I like players that shake up the stuffy tennis folk. shrug

Maybe in interviews but Nadal is pretty intense on the court.

I agree about Federer, though. He's so damn good it's boring. Simply flawless.

basically everyone grunts nowadays.

I might not even notice if I didn't work right next to tennis courts. But now I have this negative association with the grunting. So when I watch tennis I feel like I'm working.

Kim has played outstanding tennis. I'm sure she's gonna win tonight!
I'm backing Del Potro for the men's side. He deserves it and would be a great victory over Fed. vamos Mr Argentina!

I am really looking forward to the Federer/Djokovic match. I like both those players a lot.

I didn't know anything about Del Potro, but he has the look of a champion.

It would be, if they were even 10% as loud as the Williams sisters.

Seriously, have you ever watched one of them play?

You know that Jill Jones scream in "All Day, All Night"? The one at 2:29? The one that goes "AAAAAUUUUHHHHH!!!!!"?

They make that sound on EVERY. SINGLE. SHOT.

In fact, most women players do. Monica Seles started it.

Hmmm...maybe I need to start watching tennis hmmm

Yeah she did. The foot fault call was bogus, though. I'm not the most comprehensive tennis watcher, but I don't think I have ever seen a foot fault called in a TV match. For sure not in a major. And definitely not on the point before match point.

My experience with youth tennis is that if someone foot faulted that late in a match, they were foot faulting the whole match. Even kids don't change where they put their feet at the end of a match.

If Serena foot faulted (and she didn't), I'm pretty sure she'd been doing it the whole match, and it wasn't called once.

Still, she said the wrong things.
