ok. i was vandalized last night ! I woke up at 2 or so and heard voices - now i am alil upset i didnt go and pursue - but vandals broke into my truck .

i kinda thought i was half asleep and heard things ... but this morning i realized what happened when i went to my truck... its odd - but they didnt get too much - still i feel quite violated ...

my digital camera (which sucks cus i use it for work so i have to go back out and take a bunch of photos - its like losing a day of work ! ) - - - and my GPS are the worst things they got ... oh and my cell phone . big deal . they did miss my check book !!!! (suckahs ! )

I will lock my truck from now on - cus that is all they were looking for (unlocked cars/trucks) ... damn damn damn !!!

I have had that happen...dumb dumbs broke the window of my Tahoe to steal an empty notebook bag!

It's a horrible feeling.

I've walked in on two car break-ins. The first time, I caught the guys, beat them up, and then told my wife that she didn't know it but she'd married Batman.

The second time, some guy jumped out of my Suburban at 5:00 AM, just as I was getting in. He'd seen me coming but I hadn't seen him.

He was a short, stocky, bearded and hairy hippie, and he screamed at me as he jumped out. I thought the Wolfman was attacking me. He got away, but mainly because my wife said that if I ever got into another fight with a robber, she'd hurt me worse than any robber could. Assuming, of course, I didn't get shot, which was the real reason she didn't want me being Batman.

About 3 months ago my right front passenger door lock got popped. I went to the police station and they had me fill out a report after looking at vehicle. Nothing was stolen.

After that I put a bright yellow plastic "All valuables removed" sign from the police station in the car window. I was saving up to have the lock replaced and the damn shit heads kept entering vehicle during the night. Fucking dumbass's there was nothing of value to take!! I was hoping I would catch them so I could beat the living shit out of them - and then call the cops

They did try to take my cd/radio player but they cannot seem to get at it coz it's part of/came with the vehicle

I never leave anything of value, CDs, etc. My vehicle registration I keep on me.

I've heard of vehicles being broken into just because a few coins were visible. Never leave coinage lying around.

My neighbours car next to me has the same plastic sign as me yet her CDs and stuff in back seat is visible which is an invitation to any thief.

wow . that is classic and its always nice to hear other people have had similar violations ...

update: my stolen cell phone was used numerous times (8.00 added to my damn cell bill !!!! ) since it was stolen around 3 am .... so maybe the thugs arent the most intelligent !!!! i hope i hope ...

of course - the other side to that is - my bro in law said he had stuff stolen - and had to appear in court !!! and it sucked cus it took the whole day and he just sat there waiting - meanwhile the jerks just plead guilty so it was a complete waste of a day for him !!! (he said it might be better if you never get the stuff back )

We recently had a break in at our house in the early hours. Local junkie out of his face. The Wife disturbed him and he ran off only getting my daughter's mobile phone.

I was all set to chase after him, but was strongly advised by the police to stay put. Which was the correct thing in hindsight as I would've left my wife and children alone in the house.

Anyway, The Wife stood up in court. She was petrified, but she did her bit and he got six months!

Not a nice feeling. You did the right thing not confronting. The feelings of violation would still be there regardless. And how much for a phone. etc? Not worth it.

Also, a huge truck once crashed into my neighbour's front wall about 1am. Knocked the wall flat. Police there, neighbours out, had to reverse the lorry. all sorts of commotion. The Wife slept through the whole thing, and all I can remember is dreaming about my bins getting collected!

to add just alil bit to the story - i actually heard them . it was around 2 am and i heard someone outside - to me (in my sleeping stupor) I thought it sounded like someone idleing a car in the front street and throwing trash out of the car ! - - - and i sleepily got up to look out the window with a "noone is gonna throw trash out in my neighborhood attitude !!!"

i looked out the window- but by that time i didt hear anything else ... the noise i heard was probably them rummaging thru my truck ! (it is a mess)
