Need the help of fans!! hello all,
most of you probably don't know who i am, but i have been around...and i need your help! i am writing a paper for school. the topic of the paper is to write about 4 cultures (besides gender and race) that you feel you belong to in your own life. one of the 4 i am choosing is being a prince fan. as prince fans..we definitely have a culture all of our own. we have the fan websites, the fan gatherings, the music, the languages of the org emoticons, the inside jokes that only prince fans could get etc etc. wondering if anyone could share a little about how this culture influences your life. or any ideas you have at all about a "being a prince fan" and belonging to that culture. what does it mean to you to be a prince fan? you can orgnote me if you want to email instead of post. it would greatly help me focus and write my paper! thank you in advance [Edited 9/7/09 9:01am] vi

There is the Prince fan culture, then there is the org general discussion culture.
These two are almost completely mutually exclusive Although the majority of the folks I interact with and care about have migrated to facebook, the influence they have on my life has been profound. But the dichotomy between the fan who exclusively hangs out in GD and those who tend to hangout in the actual 'prince' forum is pretty striking.
