i went 2 see her yesterday and she doesn't look good 2 me but the vet said he would have done everything i did for her with his own kitty she hasn't eaten and would eat for me either (i brought her favorite things) no response, she just looks like she's giving up, there keeping her hydrated by i.v. so i have a hard decision to make if she doesn't improve by tuesday, i can either taker her home or leave her there i just don't have the heart to let her go, i can't give the ok, my heart aches so bad for her the vets r confusing me - her ultrasound of her heart came back ok so they don't know what caused it i'll let u know by tuesday As long as we keep our luv strong we'll never shed no tears

We took him in when he seemed like he didn't want to go on any longer. It's a heartbreaking decision and I feel for ya. Prince, in you I found a kindred spirit...Rest In Paradise.

You have a tough decision to make. If you do decide to let her go, try and make sure your there, you can hold her in your arms. Did they check for ticks if she has paralysis? Still hoping for a better turn around for you.

I talked to the vet last night he said she ate a little but other than that she's the same, they want to try her on a new drug
but i will only work if her body let's it so as of today i decided to bring her home tomorrow, if she dies then at least she's home but i'm not going to think about that, i'm just going to love her with the time i have left, i just can't put her down, i love her too much. the way i see it is that you wouldn't put a human down just for being paralyzed and she's a person to me, she's one of God's creatures, and what makes us better than them in fact i think they're better than us and should be treated like gold, they would do it for us if they could so you can judge me and call me crazy but i'll be able to sleep at night and she will know that i won't give up on her and who knows maybe that in itself will make her better power of love you know sorry to go on and on but i guess i feel the need to explain why i have to keep her with me she's a little angel, God's angel that was sent to me to take care of and i will i love for life As long as we keep our luv strong we'll never shed no tears

I wouldn't put a human down because they are paralyzed but while emotionally our animals may be the same as humans, physically they are not. Humans can adapt and get around in other ways often. Will your kitty be able to get around in any way at all?
Also, I understand preferring she die at home, but please please PLEASE check with the vet that her passing won't involve any pain. Each time we've had to put down our animals has been because they lost their quality of life and we wanted to keep them from suffering physical pain. Please check on this with your vet. I'm speaking as someone who is very devoted to his animal companions, not as someone who is judging in any way. I know just how you're feeling over this.

Have they done full blood works and a scan of the Kidneys? I ask as the onset of kidney disease and diabetes can cause loss of function of the back legs. There are many causes why the hind legs can have problems you can insist to be sent to a specialist if your veterinary surgeon does not know what the problem is. No one’s going to judge you, do what you think is right.
Much love to you and your kitty Healing prayers being sent for your kitty

They are lovely photos Monkey Rose, you look happy (for a sad situation). I think she is better with you than at the vet, and I'm sure if she was in pain she wouldn't be laying or sleeping like that, anyway, nice to see. Take care.

Monkeyrose has your vet given you feline recovery food? Royal Canin food for example is a prescription only diet and is very good as you can tube or syringe feed it. You can also warm this food up to try tempting, to tube or syringe feed the food is easy to turn into water consistency. Here is a link of the food. http://www.royalcanin.us/...spx?ID=110

no, they kind of rushed me out, i think they gave up i will certainly look into that and thank u Wow you should not have been rushed out and if they do not know what is wrong please ask to be referred to a specialist veterinary hospital. Your vet should have also given you Oral rehydration sachets eg: Lectade, lectade is electolytes and glucose especially formulated for sick animals. You can purchase Lectade with out a prescription. Mix contents of sachet with cool boiled water and syringe into mouth thats if kitty will not drink by itself. When is your next visit to the vets?

So sorry to hear this... Last year my cat Lola was hit and left on the road. We didn't find her until we were taking the dogs out for a walk and she was still alive and trying to pull herself home. We got her straight to the vets, but an X-ray confirmed the worst that her pelvis had been 'shunted' causing the spine to be damaged. The vet did his best for her, but she slowly slipped away while he was treating her. I realise that this is a different situation to your own cat, but the vet did say at the time that if she had lost control of her back legs there would be very little they could do... I hope as this isn't a spinal injury something can be done Formally known as Mr_Nos on Housequake

When is your next visit to the vets? well she's been going 4 the past few days and they keep all day long and i take her home at night because no one is there at night, they r hydrating her and they force fed her and flushed her catheter but it still looks bloody and the food they fed her, well she vomited when she got home, then she was very restless, she would start falling asleep and wake up meowing then i clued in that she was feeling discomfort or pain so i took her to the hospital and they gave her a shot to help that. we go to the vet this morning and i will ask about that mix the vet said i should let her go soon if she doesn't improve, so i decided monday is the day if i don't see improvement this wekend As long as we keep our luv strong we'll never shed no tears

my friend took her yesterday - September 14, 3pm 2009 2 the vet 2 get put down, i just didn't have the strength 2 do it
this is the friend that found her under her deck and nursed her back 2 health then brought her in my life, so it came full circle she took her body and buried her under a tree with a cat statue 2 mark the spot and she has pictures whenever i am ready 2 see them - i couldn't have gotten through it without her so i just cried myself 2 sleep yesterday i am having trouble seeing her things, and yesterday before everything happened, she dragged herself 2 the closet and stayed there all day until we took her out, we were thinking she was going there 2 die - she just wanted 2 be alone i can't go in that room right now it's too hard i miss her so much and am still mad at God 4 taking her As long as we keep our luv strong we'll never shed no tears
