My grandmother's house was haunted.....my mom, aunt, uncles, visitors and grandparents all had experiences there....Too many stories to tell.
Personally I have had a few things happen to me, not necessarily seeing anything just experiences.
Once, shortly after my dad died, I had a dream of us riding down a long road in a convertible, the sun was shining and the wind was blowing in our hair. When I woke up my hair was blowing.....Crazy. Freaked me out at first then I was overwhelmed w/ joy as if I actually got to meet w/ my Dad again.

Another, not so joyfull episode was one night when I was visiting my ex-fiance'. As soon as I entered the room I told him there was something evil in the room. I could just feel it. Well we were watching TV and I fell alseep. All the sudden I couldn't move and couldn't talk. Was like there was a weight over me that was paralyzing. I made the sign of the cross in my head and it was instantly gone.

I've had that happen- where I feel like I'm pinned down to my bed!
I recited the Lord's Prayer in my head...

omg
About a year ago, I had this very strange dream where I saw a ball of light float in and out of my bedroom closet and come towards the bed, menacingly.
I woke up with a start, and same thing, I was paralyzed with fear and weigthted down to the bed.
I'm not much of a Catholic anymore, but I did recite whatever prayers came to mind until the feeling passed.

Sounds more like sleep paralysis and not a paranormal experience.

I enjoy these "ghost" threads! nod

Forgive me for repeating myself, but I want to share;

- My grandma has plenty of stories. Best one is; one time when she was a baby, she would be on the floor out of the crib when my great-grandma awoke every morning. One night my great-grandma stayed awake all night long to see how she was getting out, when she saw a woman in a white dress come floating down the hall. Seeing her awake, the spirit beckoned her to follow and came to a room in the house where she crouched down and made digging motions with her hands. Next day my great-grandma told her landlady, and they started digging. Sure enough they found a chest. Unfortunately my great-grandma was a naive young lady at the time, (on her own), and the landlady convinced her that the chest was cursed and they moved out the next day. So who knows what was in that chest?!?!?

- I'm pretty sure that there was a spirit in my childhood home. My mom said that shortly after we moved in (1977) she would feel a hand caressing her thigh at night (my dad being sound asleep & snoring next to her). One night when she'd had enough, she cursed out at the spirit and told it to leave her alone, then covered herself up in the sheets tight. That's when she felt like someone punched her in the back with a fist...but never got felt up again.

- My wife grew up in a house that had spirits. When they bought the house, one neighbor (nice lady) refused to go inside because the house had "spirits". They had an attic, and at night they could hear boxes being dragged from one end of the attic to the other. One day my father-in-law came home from work, and was standing in the kitchen cutting up some bread and cheese when he heard footsteps running down the stairs and run into the sunroom. Sounded like my wife's pounding steps (little girl at the time) so he called out to her to come get some food. When she didn't answer he walked into the sunroom and then around the house and discovered that he was home alone. One other time, my mother-in-law was home alone and went outside to hang some laundry. When she went back to go in, she was locked outside. Mind you, the door had a LATCH that you have to TURN FROM THE INSIDE!!!!

I could go on & on.

nod The house that I currently live in is inhabited with spirits. It was built in the early 1900's. Originally owned by a doctor whom had a disabled daughter, which is why our porch is so wide(to accommodate her wheelchair).

When my Mom was little, and first had moved into the home, she said that she had got up one night, and went downstairs to go to her Mom because she had a bad dream, and when she got down there, she said there was a young girl in a wheelchair sitting in front of her parents bedroom door.

I had only heard things,(noises in the basement when nobody was down there, footsteps coming down the stairs, but everyone in bed). I had my first experience with actually seeing a spirit last year.

I was asleep, and was waking up to turn over when I saw someone go past my door in a long white nightgown. At first I thought it was my sister, since her room is right next to mine, but I found it odd that I did'nt hear her go down the stairs since they creak when stepped on. I got up,and she was still in bed. I felt really weird,so I souldn't go back to sleep. It was early morning so I went downstairs to get dressed in the bathroom. I got in the bathroom, and out of nowhere just started bawling, and the entire time that I am sobbing,I was thinking "What am I crying for". I just was all of the sudden hit with this sadness, and I really did'nt know where it came from. I called my Mom cause I was freaking out.

Months later i was watching one of those Ghost shows with my Mom,and they talked about what I had experienced, which I found comforting, because I really could explain it myself.

That said, there may be something more to it. In the same house as a child I used to dream of two old ladies tending the garden. When I described it to my parents apparently I described the garden exactly the way it used to be in the 70's before my parents had bought the house, and I had also described to a T the two old ladies they had bought the house from. Needless to say it's all a little creepy. shake

I don't see ghosts usually (thank goodness) but once at a clinic I was working with I saw a little black thing run to a door and the the door shut on its own. I thought a cat was loose but when I checked nothing was there. Then the other workers told me a story about a ghost cat. Now I don't know if they were fucking with me about the story, but I do know what I saw! LOL

When my sister died, the night before I had a horrible feeling that I was not going to wake up the next day. In fact I called in sick to work the next day and also had the most horrendous cramps started, well that night I got the phone call and by the time I drove there she was gone. Then that whole week she possessed me. No lie! One time her best friend and I were talking and we were talking smack about her car....and the car horn started to go off at that exact moment. (supposedly the horn would do that but in all the time I had ever visited my sister I never heard it do that, plus right at the moment we were talking about it??). There were many many signs that she was there in spirit.

I don't do ghost, but I usually have spot on premonitions (but I don't really know that's what they are until after the fact, which sucks!).

Several times I had the feeling I saw a ghost, but maybe it was just my imagination.

I have completely disturbing dreams as well, and I start to pray in my sleep to make it go away.
