My favorite MAC OS-X feature http://onderdonk.blogspot...ature.html
Not super fancy but kind of handy in how simple it is to use.

I want to write a novel and don't have any good program here on my Imac... If you really use iLife, then I guess it is worth it. Personally, I wouldn't buy it. I only use iMovie and got rid of everything else. I kept iWeb. I don't know why

Well, iLife is worth it. I use iPhoto all the time. iMovie and GarageBand are great apps that are nice to have around when you need them. I wouldn't bother buying Leopard now that Snow Leopard is available, so you could save money just buying iLife. I want to write a novel and don't have any good program here on my Imac...

My name comes from the Prince song. I did take Spanish for 4 years in high school, but I don't know any French. "Whitney was purely and simply one of a kind." ~ Clive Davis

I can't wait till I get the upgrade Is it amessing? I actually gained 8 gigs of freespace on my mac upgrading. I'm not sure why Apple is calling this thing a major version upgrade though. It's not that different from OS-X leopard. Although I noticed a huge difference in Safari and Finder. Finder is blazing fast now and so is Safari. The new Quicktime is terrific, but still not that much in the way of a major upgrade. I guess they're calling this a major upgrade cause underneath the hood, they've re-written everything in 64 bit and whatnot. No biggie to me though--OS-X is great on it's own... reinventing the wheel here isn't necessary. It could be my imagination but quicktime seems to run much quicker and smoother under OS-X. Either way it's nice to install a newer version of your OS and it actually run even faster and take up less space--that's pretty cool.

Hopefully there won't be driver issues down the road. My main concern before buying Snow Leopard would be compatibility issues with Adobe CS4. OS 10.5 was a total dick to Adobe CS when it first came out. If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

Well, they readily admit it isn't; that's why it's only $29. It's not that different from OS-X leopard. Although I noticed a huge difference in Safari and Finder. Finder is blazing fast now and so is Safari.
The Finder was rewritten. Safari 4 does seem faster than it did on Leopard. "Whitney was purely and simply one of a kind." ~ Clive Davis

Do all your non-apple applications still work correctly on Snow Leopard? Yes. I heard Microsoft Word has a couple of problems, but I haven't exerperienced any so far, and I've been in Word all weekend. I would imagine a fix for these will be out pretty damned fast considering how minor the issues have been so far. I haven't personally seen any issues except with Flip-for-Mac's on-the-fly conversion of hardcore internet porn files for quicktime to play. And then the only thing I see there is that it tries to convert files for viewing even if I only select the file with no intention to load it and view it (perhaps this is linked to a preview feature?). It's been very minor, and I've been able to jack my cock with religious fervor to the same hardcore porn titles I loved so dearly before upgrading. So meh. No worries.

Well, I use iWork so, I shouldn't have any issues with that. I am worried about the other software I use for school (Eagle, GeoGebra, MathType and Matlab). Also, I use aMSN and it would SUCK if that stopped working
